Introduction

Previous mission statements from 9/11 truth groups and organizations focused primarily on atonement for the 9/11 attacks, spreading the “message” (rather vague), and protesting for a new investigation. However most of these declarations are without meaning, and well short on the evidentiary standard of employing the scientific method. This core group of researchers, academics and independent investigators however have a more focused approach.

Justice.

How do we attain it? By deducing fact from fiction, and proceeding to spread the message without being tainted by obvious falsehoods and error. Then, and only then, can we get toward a goal of obtaining a “new investigation”. The question then becomes, who could possibly grant us this third independent inquiry without themselves being complicit or corrupted into a coverup

“Belief versus Knowledge” The essence of knowing something rather than believing something to be true. The power of the scientific method.

JFK researcher and author of “History Will Not Absolve Us”, E. Martin Schotz once penned a letter to fellow author, Vincent Salandria, in regards to the act of knowing from believing. The letter stated the following:

“It is so important to understand that one of the primary means of immobilizing the American people politically today is to hold them in a state of confusion in which anything can be believed but nothing can be known, nothing of significance that is.

And the American people are more than willing to be held in this state because to know the truth — as opposed to only believing the truth — is to face an awful terror and to be no longer able to evade responsibility. It is precisely in moving from belief to knowledge that the citizen moves from irresponsibility to responsibility, from helplessness and hopelessness to action, with the ultimate aim of being empowered and confident in one’s rational powers.”

This can be used to summarize the 9/11 Truth Movement, most of it anyway. There are many proponents who have “hitched” a ride on the 9/11 bandwagon proclaiming to possess information which shows a coverup. Some of this information shared however has catered to fiction. Some even elucidated the misrepresentation of the data to try and force a narrative. Either way, it was never held under the method of science. Deducing fact from fiction. When we come across information one must discern that which is true from that which is false.

One of the primary problems of the 9/11 Truth Movement comes from their current state of belief. And there are many points which raise one’s eyebrow, even embracing the ‘fantastical” which could very well have an adverse effect at gaining new interests from those outside the fold. We must employ these steps at making a true hypothesis of the information they come across:

  1. Make an observation.
  2. Ask a question.
  3. Form a hypothesis, or testable explanation.
  4. Make a prediction based on the hypothesis.
  5. Test the prediction.
  6. Iterate: use the results to make new hypotheses or predictions.

We must look at the events of September 11th 2001 as investigators would, not as hobbyists. This means, without bias, without reservations and without any preconceived judgements. A puzzle which has many pieces and must be put together with the right pieces (truth) and not force the pieces (false) into the holes. By carefully screening the data, we can then construct a picture which then can be used to hold liable and/or gain a better understanding of what happened on September 11th 2001.
